Dishwasher / Steward

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for loading and unloading dishwasher, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, storing clean items, sweeping, and mopping floors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares tableware for washing, i.e., scrapes plates, pre soaks silver, places all items to be washed in their proper rack.
• Sets up dishwashing machine, i.e., drains closed, tanks filled, temperatures at correct level, detergents at proper level.
• Washes dishes and then stacks and stores china in appropriate kitchen area.
• Thoroughly cleans dishwashing equipment and working areas.
• Collects all soiled pots, wash and restacks cleaned pots on shelves.
• Responsible for all removal of garbage and refuse.
• Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, wet area and with hot water.
• Mops and sweeps floors.
• Responsible for the over all cleanliness of the kitchen floors walls equipment
• Must remain well groomed at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least one year of experience in the kitchen field preferred. A sincere willingness to provide service to residents, guests, and to peers. Excellent human relations skills. Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently. Ability to function under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions.

High work ethic, with a sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand and continuously perform the essential job functions.
